The reception of the anatomical-pathologic approach as a way
to understand illness develops along the 19th Century, only
to be consolidated in Barcelona thorough departments in the
faculty and the creation, in 1924, of the museum for this
specialty, founded on the premises of the Faculty of Medicine
of the Teaching Hospital. Another set of anatomical models,
coming from the Dermo-Syphilographic Museum created at the
Dermatology department of Santa Creu and Sant Pau´s
Hospital of Barcelona by Dr. Santiago Noguer between the years
1927-41, complete this review and allow knowing ways of representation
of dermatology along the first half of the 20th Century. Altogether,
these constitute clear examples of the pedagogical character
of these institutions.
