general pathology
An important array of instruments at the Museum regards classical
and modern pathology. As an example of practices based on
Galenism, several instruments show the practice and teaching
of bleeding: lancets, washbasins, artificial anatomical preparations,
scarifiers, cupping glasses, syringes.
On the other hand, a great number of anatomical preparations
and other ways of representation and objectification, as well
as clinical objects illustrate certain affections.
The collection of syringes for irrigation or therapeutic cleaning,
healing or therapeutic administration, aspiration, transfusion,
perfusion, extraction of foreign bodies and blood vessel injection
in pathological anatomy, made with different materials, allows
following the evolution of an essential medical instrument.
