histology
The application of cellular theory to microscopic anatomy
provided the experimental basis for histology, its first observations
allowing the definition and understanding of the microscopic
composition and structure of organic tissues, thus establishing
a point of communication between anatomy and physiology.
The Museum collection of objects presents several examples
of the gradual technical improvement in the specimens’
section, the evolution of microtomes, staining techniques
or micrographic techniques of registration that helped studying
and classifying.
