The information system of a museum collection constitutes
an essential task for an accurate management of the preserved
objects. This aim is nowadays even more important as computer
equipment allows building databases which offer enough support
not only of text, but of images, sound and video as well.
Besides, given the great amount of objects conserved in the
Museum, the use of these media to gain general access to the
entire collection becomes obvious. This last feature is even
more important in our case, as the Museum doors are temporarily
closed to the public. All these are enough reasons to create
a database of the Museum to subsequently offer it to anyone
interested to check it. We are working to promptly make our
database available.
